My first M!
Hi guys,
First and foremost, I wanted to extend my gratitude to this site and the people on here as its been a pleasure being on here for so long and gaining so much valuable insight into M3s and automobiles in general. I'm glad I can finally say I'm a proud new owner of a BMW M3, my first, a blessing. Its a dream come true for me after sooo many years of desiring one. I can now say I've joined the proud ranks of passionate BMW M owners and there is no turning back. I'd like to thank you guys for your support and especially this site for making this entire process so much more easier and gratifying. I'm looking for to enhancing my M experience with the rest of you. Without further ado, and now that I feel like I won a Grammy, here is my new baby! Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm in Wayne. Jaserion got it right. Monsta we gotta meet up some time. Would love to see the IB. Always loved the pic in your sig. Now I need one of those too!
BTW, quick question, does everyone's angel eyes go brighter when you start your car compared to the way they are when open the doors. I much prefer them to be dimmer since when they go brighter they become less defined and the inside angel eye begins to look just like a light??? You can actually see it from my pics. You can't see the ring in the inside lights. The pic over exaggerated it but its not far from when your looking at it. I've noticed other BMWs like the X5s and 335s that have them dimmer angel eyes. What gives? Any chance you guys think I can have this set to be less intense. The rings become so much more distinctive. |

When you do NOT have your headlights on, the rings are brighter as they function as your Daytime Running Lights. When the headlights switch on, they become dimmer. You can turn your DRL's off thru iDrive if you really want to. I kinda like the bright rings during the day when you are driving.

Straz my MAN!!! We picked up our BMW's back in 2002 at the same time at Park Ave. I'm the guy with the silver 330i sedan when you were picking up your M.
Funny, we end up getting the same car years later bro. Good taste! |

Mine stay the same way if they are off or when the toggle is switched once to the right. So your saying if I turn the DRLs off through the idrive they'll go dim?!

As far as the DRLs go...they should be the same brightness whether you are in off mode, to the right one notch, or in Auto when its not dark out. As soon as your xenon headlights go on, the rings dim. If you turn off your DRL's the rings will not be on at all until you turn your headlights on. Someone correct me if I am wrong because I have never shut my DRL's off.

Oh okay, I guess I can't get them to stay they way they are when I unlock the doors. I'm gonna check with the dealer cause I really want them dimmer since it defeats the purpose of rings if they look like regular lights most of the time.
Anyway, congrats on your new M too. Now we gotta meet up sometime again. This thing is killer! The looks it gets, the jaws it drops and the necks it breaks makes me think I need some extra insurance for it. Thanks leeor. |
