im getting the run around on this as well. According to the BMW web site, the 1er has 3 possible sirius adapters depending on production date for our cars.

this makes things difficult.

The representative who activated my account told me it wasn't compatible.

XM and Siruis specifically said you will require a new dual tuner model in order to receive both sets of stations. Exisiting hardware will not be compatible with both line ups.

no buddy, the new equipment is needed to be able to subscribe to "a la carte" programming". most older units should be able to receive best of XM.

the question is whether the BMW module is one of those units able to receive best of XM. I want my Opie & Anthony!

On top of this - wondering if the 09 Sirius tuner will be compatible (I assume its a different model # all together).

THe funny thing is that all the XM tuners from the very forst one are compatible with the XM and BEst of Sirius. It is the SIrius tuners that have a problem. Seems like at least half are not compatible.

That isn't true. Prior to the merger, both companies explicitly stated that existing hardware would be fully compatible with any changes.

I just picked up my 135i on Friday. I called Sirius to activate my account and was able to add the Best of XM package. It cost an additional $50/year. Gave them my credit card and they turned it on. I now get Opie and Anthony on channel 197. I am a huge XM fan and liked their Alternative rock stations better. They say it's a merger, but Sirius is taking over XM. At least I can get O&A!

Well, I'll be damned. I just upgraded my package, and I'm not talking about replying to one of those online pharmacy spams.

This thread is now about pizza. My favorite toppings are ham and pineapple.
