Seeking advice on aftermarket audio/MP3.
Hey fellas,
When I picked up my 135 (which I absolutely love), my options were pretty limited; Either wait months for a custom built car or pick from the (few) available manual transmission 135s in the country. Since I needed a car immediately, I grabbed a beautiful Jet Black 135 with nothing but Sport. I wish I could have gotten iDrive and the iPod adapter, but cest la vie. Long story short, I'm looking for advice on aftermarket audio products. Specifically, I'm looking into a hard drive-based MP3 solution to leave permanently in the car (much like how people are connecting laptop HDs via the USB port). Does such a thing exist for folks without the USB port? Also, from what I've researched from this and a few other forums, the best audio upgrade route is amp -> sub-woofers and/or front tweeters -> rear tweeters. Anyone have any recommendation for budget- to mid-range amps that can easily be installed in the 1? Thanks a ton in advance!

I see there are a few navigation systems that include a hard drive and MP3 playback capabilities. Are these worth looking into? Any specific models to check out?

I didn't get USB/IPod on mine either, which I regret since a USB thumb drive would be great! I've been looking at some Alpine head units that have the USB input. Probably the cheapest route for a MP3 Hard drive would be a new headunit and a USB laptop external hard drive. An SSD (Solid State HD) would be even better since it would have no problem with bumps or cornering Gs
