Retrofit Hd radio in '08?

Just wondering if HD radio can be retrofitted in a 2008 M3. Anyone do this if so what was the cost?

It can, you're looking at about $1500 for the radio (needs a core of the same part number) + coding.

For the cost, you're better going with Satellite.

Also, the inside trunk is slightly different in m3s equipped with hd radio.. you might be able to find some pics via search.

I wouldn't bother with HD radio.

I have it and I leave it turned off all of the time. I makes less than perfectly received stations un listenable. If you stay on one station of a few that have strong reception, it males it sound a little better but no big deal. A CD or MP3 player still sound better.

That's my opinion.

Now I don't mind HD radio so much because I don't believe in paying for radio. The ads don't bother me really. Now, bluetooth, ZPP is something I regret not getting. Unfortunately, it will cost over a grand to retrofit BT into the car.

Theres no official retrofit, which means most BMW centers won't be able to code the car for HD Radio.
