I haven't had to clean the 666M's yet but I like to hit the face with a wheel cleaning brush to get most of the face and tires, then I hit the barrels with a "speed master" brush.
With the mesh pattern it's probably best to use a boars hair brush if the speed master brush doesn't fit in the spokes. |

I switched to ceramic pads and don't really need to worry about it anymore. But otherwise the tool I like to use is actually the simplest one which is sold at autozone and pepboys.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Viking-Car-Ca...a-797259814269 They are cheaply made so it won't last forever but it does a good job of quickly agitating brake dust in the spokes. The other ones I used which were more expensive required more work and were either too bulky or didn't get into crevices as well. Aside from this tool, I use a microfiber mitt to clean the face and perimeter of the wheel. It takes less than five minutes for me to clean the wheels with this method.

Definitely the lower dust pads as others have mentioned. Chemical guys flagged tip brush for the face and Gerbil or Wheel Woolies for all the crevices.
It's so easy with the right tools! |

Same here. I am thinking of swapping them out to akebonos soon. At least the front pads. Tired of the clunking when switching direction. From what I know the akebonos don't clunk.

I don't find the brakedust to be the big problem. I find the Surface rust on the discs after washing to be a bigger issue. I Always try to go back and forward after a wash to dry the discs to avoid the brown dust from the discs to get loose if they just stand and dry by themselves. I have ceramic coated my Wheels so that is also good to keep them Clean and free from scrathes when you brush them c
lean when washing. |

I use the Chemical Guys Wheel Woolies. The smaller brushes for the spokes and crevasses, and the bigger one for the barrels. It takes me about 8-10 minutes per wheel to clean when they are dirty, or about 5-7 minutes if I do it weekly.

This, or similar. Cleans between spokes and all the way through the wheel.

I was kinda worried about people saying its a pain to clean. I got mine ceramic coated with the car immediately after taking delivery. And so far they are super easy to clean the dust will blast right off with the power washer. For the inner barrels I use the wheel cleaning wand or whatever its called. The 666m are so open that I can stuff it and give a light agitation and pressure wash it after. Dry with regular microfiber drying towel I use only for the wheels. Just my 2 cents.

I bought my F82 w/666s second hand and I am soooooo thankful that he previous owner ceramic coated the whole car including the wheels (especially the barrels). It takes me 5 minutes to do a quick detail and 15-20 to do a full detail with the barrels completely spotless. I’ll never own another car without at least the wheels ceramic coated. Life changer!
