m coupe vs 3.0i center console

I am considering buying a 3.0i center console to install my CAE shifter from my e46 M3. I dont want to cut-up my original. Is there any obvious differences in these. I understand there are different trim levels. Thanks

I would guess that the shifter surround, item 9 on the attached is a universal part and the only piece you would need to mod.

Would you need to mod the console, part 21?

I did not save the thread, but I want remember that the forward portion of part 21 had to be cut by quite a margin for the base of the CAE. I will do a little more homework. I completely spaced this reference you dropped, thanks. If the #9 part is all I need, it would be a lot easier.
