2007 3.0si intermittent rpm stumble

Hello everyone

My Z4 has developed this engine stumble/hiccup around the 3000rpm range.
This happens on and off. It also throws code P0326 a knock sensor. The car is in great shape with 45K miles. The car gets driven on the weekends.
I have cleaned the MAF, new OE air filter, have run the fuel additives (techron, Lucas and octane boost) have switched the vanos solenoids around.
very frustrated.
When i take it for a spin, it works fine, but as it warms up the cutting/stumble comes in to the picture. However if i park it, shut it down, for 5 min. then restarted.................then the engine runs like a beast Unreal how powerful and smooth it is through the entire rpm range......

Anyone have run in to this issues that can shed some light?

Im in need of help with this one
Thanks

Bad tank of gas perhaps?

Another member here had a similar problem last month and I think it went away after a couple of fill ups.

Unfortunately my issue is back. Doesn't happen often but I found when it does occur the key is extremely spirited driving to resolve the issue. All the BMW shops can't figure it out. As long as you drive above 3k rpms it doesn't do it.

Maybe one of the knock sensors is bad.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
