Tire Selection M3 CS

I'm planning to upgrade my tires to a wider set to handle my upcoming BM3 install. I plan to move from stock 255 front/285 rears to 265 front/295 rear. My debate is choosing between Pilot Super Sport bmw stars, Pilot Sport 4s, or Cup 2's. In regards to the Sports 4's and Cup 2'a not being BMW stars, is that an issue?

Which tire should I choose?

I've never had an issue with non "BMW star" tires. I'd spring for at least the 4S. If I lived in Dallas, I'd probably go straight to the Cup 2's since you don't have to worry about cold weather.

It does get cold.. sporadically/sometimes

Yeah, I'm heavily considering the Cup 2's, I'd at least run them through summer then swap for the PS4s towards winter.

Does the CS not come stock 265/85? That's actually surprising. I'd go 265 or 275 front then 295 rear on 4S, buy them from tire rack and don't get the Mercedes version which I believe is model # M01 or something like that.

255 stock fronts. Yeah I noticed tire rack only seems to sell the Mercedes model 265/295 sizes for the Cup 2's.

I'm pretty sure it was only recently they released the non-Mercedes 4S, they will have overall better performance than the pilot 2's in my opinion

It depends what tires are mounted. For PSC2 it is 265/35R19 front with 285/30R20 rear. For PSS, it is 255/35R19 front with 285/30R20 rears.

I would not recommend the 265/35R19(*) PSS because it is the rear M2 tire for a 10” wide wheel. It will be suboptimal to run it on a front 9” wide wheel.

Are the size of the Cup2 tires that come on the CS in the row the same size as the non C2 tires that come in the US?

Cup 2s are 265 front and 285 rear, but the PSS front is 255.

BMW kept it simple for them. The PSC2 are the same star spec as the GTS: 265/35R19 front and 285/30R20 rear. For the optional PSS, the front are the non-comp pack 19" star spec while the rear are comp pack 20" star spec: 255/35R19 front and 285/30R20 rear.
