Re-machined 220s over black... pics inside.

Rather than start a new thread..

If anyone wants to see how these turned out. I ended up having the inside painted black vs gray... think they turned out pretty good. The black accents the car nicely.

(yes I need to fix that gap and put the new M emblems on...one thing at a time.)

Looks very minor; clear coat damage and some curb nicks.
I have the same nicks on mine but doesn't bother me as it's my daily and I plan on getting new wheels in the near future..

But seek your local wheel repair shops. They'll be able to work that out no problem

It'll have to be fully refinished to look proper. Otherwise it'd be an obvious patch job. Refinishing these isn't complicated - any competent wheel shop can do a machines + painted finish no problem.

Yes I've had multiple shops tell me that they need to be fully refinished versus a spot repair.

Curious if anyone has had this done and if they were happy with the results...

I've gotten quotes at around 165 to 175 per wheel which includes a full strip, cnc machining, and refinish/powder coat.

My cuz has had his 220s refinished/repaired and they look amazing. Can't tell there was ever any rash. I might add he's meticulous.

So yah, a good shop can repair these no problem

This is the route I decided to go... full refinish... will post pics when completed, hopefully later this week.

I've been debating going full gloss black on my 220's until I can find/afford some nice aftermarket wheels. Sub'd for pics!
