For six-cylinder models where the B58 replaced the N55, yes, the 35i designated was superseded by 40i (i.e., F10 535i -> G30 540i).

However, the X2 M35i utilizes a 4-cylinder engine (B48) and is therefore not subject to this change.

Agreed. I see no appeal whatsoever in paying well over 40 grand for a fiat 500L competitor

500L competitor, lol. I guess so is a Ferrari - four wheels, and everything. Italian even.

Loaded out it's retailing at ~$55k. Can't wait to see how the X2M35i prices out against a loaded out G20 M340i... My guess is the sedan is going to be ~$65k. Could it even be more? 🙈

Thank you BMW for offering Active Cruise Control as an option in this vehicle!

Let me help this situation and post some pictures of those seats again... lol.

Got one of these as a loaner...I really don't get it. Seems like a product line BMW could do without.

It's all about trying to grab more market share in segments that are worthwhile for BMW. It also serves as a response to Mercedes AMG GLA-45, Jaquar E-Pace Type R, Volvo XC40 Inscription which all are around the 300hp. It's just a matter of time that Audi comes up with the Q3S or maybe that's already in the works.

At the end of the day if it helps BMW sell more cars leading to a higher bottom line which would mean possibly more budget to develop more awesome cars (M2, reviving the 8 series, X7, etc), I'm all for it. I see it as a win/win for all BMW fans.

$500 for wireless charging

no thanks, ill just buy a $9 mat on amazon and stick it in the front bin where the wireless charger would go.

why cant heads up display be standard on the m sport car. or why cant it be an option outside of having to add heated wheel and seats bundled with navi.

they are in heavy rotation in the loaner pool in my area.... I think it's actually not bad looking.. just very impractical when considering the low roofline. it could catch on with some... but 46K for a 4 pot nice motor specs but ..no RWD... and not even a best effort at the AWD drivetrain.....

I like the macan.

Clearly two different types of cars. I don't put the them as competitors .
