MPE + DP or MPE + Midpipes ?

Hi guys I have an MPE and after did research they said it's gonna be loud af with a DP.
I'm thinking to do midpipes but I heard it's a hassle cause you need to cut etc.

What's the best solution for MPE not annoyingly loud.
I have BM3 tune btw.

If you have the MPE installed, the Fabspeed midpipe requires no cutting. It slides into the MPE and bolts up to the downpipes.

The best thing about this mod is not having to worry about the check engine light for those who are not tuned or for those who flash back to stock before taking the car in for service.

it is. and it's freakin awesome. do it.

tbh, it's pretty bearable with the valves closed and the engine is warmed up. its only super loud when engine is cold. ive heard much louder exhaust setups.

I ride harley straight pipes. It's ANNOYINGLY LOUD but I do it for safety purposes honestly. People tend to aware and share the road when I split lane ( I'm in CA)
Anyway, Do u think it's gonna be as loud as that?
I want to do it but it's a car and don't want it to be annoying loud.

No way it will be as loud as a straight piped V twin. You still have a muffler, and six cylinders, and turbos.

Catless downpipes and MPE sound great in person, wouldn't be a bad idea to have a EVC controller (Macht Schnell) to control volume when needed.

The burger obd cable is great. Plug and play and can turn off active sound on the fly which I like.

Doesn't M4 efficient mode do this already?
What's the difference?

I guess it does but the valve control gives you total control for eg you can close in any mode - open in any mode and then oem.

The burger tuning module is great is it is easily installed and removed via the obd port

I have it, MPE + Eisenman DP. I'm only in Cerritos and not far from Irvine, if you'd like to hear it.

no way. not even close. ive heard much louder exhausts on the this platform.

heres the thing. are you concerned about yourself, the driver, or everyone else?

personally i dont think its loud enough when im driving the car. thats right. i want louder. then again, i am INSIDE and not on the outside. the car has great sound deadening. when i heard my car from the outside it was surprised how loud it was.

with the valves closed and driving around town, i feel like the car is too quiet. i open the valves and im glad to hear an appreciable volumes increase, but it's no where near as loud/obnoxious as you think it is. its still pretty tame unless you are WOT with your head out the window or you are a spectator standing a few feet away from the car.

anecdotal evidence: my daughter who is 15 months gets antsy in the car when the valves are closed. maybe its too quiet for her? i keep the valves open on the highway and there is a nice hum in the background at cruising speed. she is knocked out dead asleep and snoring after 5 minutes. if a toddler can sleep in the back of the car with the valves open and the exhaust slightly droning, you can manage with having downpipes and MPE with valves closed (which it probably will be most of the time).

Hi,
i just got my MPE installed with a sec. cat delete with stock downpipes.
its noticeably louder than only mpe. i would even go so far and say valves closed is as loud as mpe with secondary cats. in my opinion thats more than enough to be happy with.

sooooo just to clarify...

With everything stock on the F80 + MPE exhaust... If I add the downpipe
it'd be loud... eh?

1. will it give CEL?

Isn’t california one of the strictest states concerning emission laws and OP is from California.

In Belgium they are also pretty strict but normally a high flow cat 200 cells would pass the emission tests (in Belgium I mean).
