The M4 is Huuuuge...
So I come out of work the other day to find an e63 M6 parked next to my M4.
The M4 was huge in comparison to the M6... I generally love the M4 but sometimes I really feel it's size. Especially when I feel like I'm looking over the hood bulge to see the road (maybe I should raise my seat height!) Anyway, the M4 is great. But it's bigly. Makes me consider going for a 997 Porsche with a naturally aspirated engine (something I also pine for in the M.)

100 percent agree, it's a very wide and big car. It's not quite Mustang size yet, but it's getting there. I never saw the M4 next to the old M6, but didn't realize it dwarfed the M6!
New 911 is the same thing, it's grown from what the 997 was in all dimensions. I get it's for performance reasons probably, but welding a larger car doesn't feel good. |

As I said, the M4 is big, but NOT compared to the M6. Sorry.

Coming from an SUV and minivan, the M3/M4 are relatively small on the road. Seeing over the hood bulge takes some getting use to in parking situations but I wouldn’t trade that or the width of the car. It adds to the badass look of our cars. If you wanted a more compact sports coupe perhaps you should downgrade to a 1-series. If the M3/M4 were any smaller you couldn’t comfortably transport 4-5 passengers. There’s always a trade-off but if you don’t have a family and never have more than 2 people in your car perhaps you only need a 2-seater.

Today I was at a shoe store. I saw the exact same Nike, one in a size 10 and the other in a size 13. The size 10 looked HUUUUGE compared to the size 13 (dimensions and mathematics aside)...

I love my M4 but she wears a size 12 when it comes to clothing. Now, there are some sexy ass things you can squeeze in a size 12. However, a size 12 is still bigger than most people would imagine it to be. At least once a week I feel as if I am driving a 6 series. Again, nothing wrong with it. However, there is some extra meat on these bones to hold on to, which can make the ride even more exciting...

@Invictus do you have coupe vs coupe weight by chance? I'm curious about that. I love my car, it just feels so big and heavy. If I had to guess I would have thought they were within 4-5 inches. That's much more than I would have thought.
Good info! Thanks for grabbing it. Love the " mic drop". Looks like 'Bama is wanting to do that by the way they are playing in this second half. |
