A hypothetical $10k to spend
Was pondering whether to do some upgrades to my M3 , Having been down this path previously i know its a slippery slope when you start.
Having promised the missus i will not spend a $ on this car , it already has everything that i need , well 6 months in and i must admit Im getting itchy So i was thinking what would i do to my M3CP if i had a lazy $10k sitting around .... i came up with the following list 1st - Tune - always need more power - right ! $2500 2nd - KW HAS suspension upgrade ( i dont love the way the front of the CP sits) guessing $2500 3rd Eventuri Kit (they look cool) $4000 4th Spacers for a nice stance $1000. $10k gone in 60 seconds .... what would you spend the $$ on ? |

1. The tune need not cost $2,500. I just did a JB4 on a non CP vehicle and the results in combination with catless DP's and an aFe CAI were excellent. The car baselined completely stock at 303rwkW and saw a Map 2 result of 353rwkW. 2. The KW HAS kit seems to be the most tried and tested option and the most favourably reviewed so I can't argue with that. :-) 3. Indeed, a big tick from me if you want that bling and can justify the exy' price tag. It does sound awesome as f... too, lol. 4. Not sure what wheel spacers are going to set you back $1,000. Please feel free to PM if you would like individual pricing on the items I mentioned above as well as the catless DP's you can buy with your change, haha. Cheers, Justin. Ph. 0421 641 381 |

I made similar commitments to my wife. Had the car 3 months and so far I've spent about $2.5k on extras so you can tell how well that's going.
I don't think wheel spacers will cost that much. I had a quote for around $500. I didn't end up getting them as they aren't road legal and didn't want to risk it with insurance if anything ever happened. |

Good topic I would love some suggestions too.. m3 lci without cp. First priority is for a exhaust that gives some more pops and bangs ... anyone recommend Remus ?

I would do a 2-day m-school, 20% off right now. Then maybe get a set of track rims/tires and brake pads. Then take a track day or two. Spend the leftovers on your mods.

BM3 OBD e85 flash (Cary), BMS stealth meth kit, JB4, catless DPs, drop in filters. When you find some more $$, then the turbo upgrade. Hello 700whp.

Everyone has a different threshold for pain re warranty etc and you really don't want to have explain to the missus if you have a warranty problem cause of an upgrade........
That said I like your idea on the KW HS (although i've spoken to a couple of Guys who have gone KW V4 and they absolutely rave about them), exhaust, and stretch to Akra if you can (including Akra downpipes) and then you can use the 2 x M buttons to run in naughty or nice mode or in you're case Missus passenger or No Missus passenger. This also helps if you come accross anyone in blue as you can hit the quiet button or it defaults back to quiet when you kill the engine. Also agree with the Eventuri, but you budget is already blown on KW HS and Akra................. Good luck with whatever you decide! |

The only thing is that between the catless DP's and the exhaust, you can't hear the intake. No way should you spend $5k on spacers and an intake. |

The Eventuri intake is super sexy but yeah it's super exy' too, lol. The aFe Momentum intake costs almost $2K less and makes power over stock whilst adding some flavour to the engine bay. If you are serious about seeing bang for your buck power gains you would be better off saving the extra $2K and put that towards a set of Stage 2 turbos from Pure, haha. |
