Factory warranty on F80
I'm checking out a 2016 M3 later this week. It is not at a dealer so not CPO. It's a Canadian vehicle. Warranty and full service are 4yrs transferrable yes?

Thanks for the info. I've always felt that extended warranty was a ripoff but $4700 almost makes sense. That's probably the cost of a starter and a water pump.

$7500 is beyond stupid and makes zero sense. You're basically banking on the turbos to fail to make that a worth while investment.

That’s cpo. If you buy from bmw dealer. You can choose either 1 or 2 yrs. not adding 1+ 2 yrs.
Op is buying outside of bmw dealer, therefore, the other table applies |

I'm really confused. What's the difference between CPO option or extended warranty. Both are BMW backed so why would I have to choose the more expensive one?

CPO - buying a used bimmer from BMW dealer in which they would have gone thru the cpo process in certifying the car and if a buyer wants to buy the extended warranty, then the dealer will sell that CPO extended warranty
Regular extended warranty - you already own the car and like to purchase it. |

Option 1: just buy the 6/160km year warranty for $7,500+HST Option 2 : Pay $150 for CPO in 4th year of my car and then buy 2/160km year warranty for $3,249+HST How does this make sense from BMW perspective? |

I thought you could only purchase the CPO warranty when you purchase the car used at that time. If you already own the car, I doubt you can just walk in to the dealer and buy a CPO warranty. CPO means Certified Pre-Owned.

You can and I know people who have had their car inspected to meet CPO requirements. They pay a fee for the CPO and then a fee to extend it.
