What does Edc suppose to do?

everytime i try to use my EDC, all i feel is a bumpy ride. It doesn't make my car handle any better, if anything it makes the car feel worse. This lead me to believe my shocks are shot but then i thought but why does my ride gets so bumpy if the edc isn't working correctly.

Sounds like a suspension or edc component has failed and is now locked in sport edc mode.
Any errors showing from a scan? Also...
You probably have already, but have you checked I-drive settings?

edc increases the dampening. bmw says it is adaptive and reduces lean (which it does). however, you can set it to already be firm for proactive roll reduction (more instantaneous) rather than soft then reactive like it would be in comfort mode.

at certain tracks, i keep it on comfort because, as you discovered, it is too firm for some situations. at certain tracks it is fine. at most tracks, it just doesn't have the valving for the rebound to take place. it remains firm, and is too bouncy.

if you can tell the difference between comfort, sport, and sport plus, its not broken.

Through the city, usually on the softest setting.
Highway, usually sport.
On/off ramps sport plus.
