Anybody in YVR with a M4 lease ending in the next year?
If you are currently leasing, and are planning on returning your vehicle, please shoot me a PM or just leave a reply and I will PM you.
I'm simply wondering if finding a lease end vehicle will be cheaper than trying to get an M4 from a dealer. I am looking to buy at some point in 2018. Thanks in advance guys. |

Do a lease takeover about 6 months before lease ends and buy it out will always be cheaper than buying from dealer. Once the car is returned, dealer can buy it out from bmwfs (if the condition is really good) and they will mark it up like 30%+ or so based on their cost

You need to provide some incentive for the leasee to do this for you. Otherwise they can just buyout the vehicle and sell it privately for easy 10% mark up. The 2015 my lease maturities that are coming up have equity in them.

Very difficult to do. Typically you will have to pay leasee $5K bonus or money to inherit car early and since most M's have such demand, dealer will often try to yank them out early into another newer M3/M4. Plus doing a lease transfer is a pain (it's not, but for most, they think it is).
It's better to buy it out a year early if possible, but even then, difficult. The markup will be about 25% from BMW stores, but it depends. About 5-10K difference. |

I know op is saying he needs a m4 in 2018. Right now, there is a Factory credit of $5k (cash purchase) + probably 7% dealer side discount going on now for MY17. If op can move up his timetable now or in a month or so, then take a look to see if it will work out.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I am aware that it would be difficult to do, and that it would be possible for people to sell privately. I wouldn't mind paying someone a few thousand to buy out their lease. It would likely still be cheaper for me, and it would save them the work of having to try and find a buyer. This was just an idea I figured I'd explore. Could turn out that it may not work out, but worth a try. |

We got a local 2015 M4 with 18500 km's through leasebusters (18 months left on the lease) ... The guy paid us $1500 cash and covered all the transfer fees approx $1400.00 ... Everything took about 45 mins including licensing ... Buy out at end is $42000.00 ... Love the car ... Signed up with PDC and took it to Mission raceway yesterday and had a blast once the rain stopped and the track dried out
