Recommend front tire brand and size
Hey Gurus,
I recently purchased a set of after market wheels 19×9.5 + 22 front and 19×10.5 + 25 rear. The rears came with Pirelli Zero N2 295/30/19. I need to buy the tires for the front. I am thinking of going 255/30 , 265/30 or even 275/30 is not out of the picture but not sure what kind of effects each will have.I was thinking stock size 245/35/19 as well but feel I will be too narrow in the front. Any recommendations for the ideal and as close as possible to the stock set up? Also should I buy Pirellis for the front or any other good brand? I don't have the comp package nor EDC and i am at stock height if that helps. Thanks in Advance. |

OK I dint receive any input so far.. I guess my questions are vague. Let me try to rephrase it.
So when going with aftermarket tire sizes for rear size as wide as 295, how do I decide what is best size for the fronts? I want to be right in the middle - not too narrow nor too wide. Is 265/35/19 a good size to run? |

You can't run 265/35/19 in front, too large of an overall diameter and will rub like crazy.
Your options are 255/35/19, 265/30/19 or 275/30/19 (may need more camber to run 275s with your +22 offset). I'd go with the 275/30. I would get a set of Michelin pilot sport 4s, wear out your current pirelli rear, and upgrade the rears later to Michelins. I would definitely not shell out the money for a new pair of pirelli tires with 10 year old technology when I can have the latest from Michelin for about the same price. |

Some tire brands sit taller than others. So Brand A and Brand B "35" sidewall may not actually be "35" compared to each other. I'd do your research and look at the tire specs of each brand and compare and mock it up somehow to your car. It's some work but worth it in the long run.
Currently running a 275/35/18 Toyo r888r and have to set camber to -3 and raise it a little because I didn't properly research the tire enough. As far as recommendations go, if you daily your car I would avoid Toyo R888r. Lots of road noise and every time I come to a stop I sound like an airplane. Personally I don't mind the noise because the grip of these tires are insane. I'd love to give the new PS4s whenever they come in 18in next year. TLR: Research each brand tire specs and mock up before buying. Hope this somewhat helped.

I would go with the 275/30/19 that would fit fine with that wheel size and offsets.

Thanks for all the tips.
The wheels I bought came with the Pirellis N2 295/30/19. They are pretty much brand new and cost $420 per tire - I can try to put it up for sale for like $200 each but not sure if anyone will take it going by what I am reading here. Ideally I would like to to go 275/255 combo for the rear and fronts but don't want to store the Pirelli's or dump them unless there are some takers for the Pirellis. I will list them for a few days and if I am not able to get rid of them I will just run them out with some used Michelins and go for the 275/255 combo later. Anyways with everything as is - I am thinking of going with 265/30 as that seems to be the safe bet. I don't want to risk dealing with the camber issues by going 275/30. Just keep the pirelli. Didn't cost you anything.
Also, nothing wrong with a 295/30/19 rear tire. 265/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear is a good combo. I think 255/275 on your 9.5" and 10.5" wheels would be too stretched. |

Nothing wrong with the 295/30 rear - that's what I have and it looks awesome!! However, Pirelli tires are crap. Just wait until they wear out and get a set of Michelins or Continentals. For the front, as others have said the 265/30 would be just about perfect on a 9.5 wheel. I have a 255/35 Michelin PS4S and it is slightly stretched.
