GTS coding and US EDC settings

Met Stuart from BMR today for the first time.

Thoroughly decent fellow. Solid.

US EDC are a huge improvement.
Would recommend it to any person with a ZCP.

idrive 6 is different but not necessarily a major improvement but it will stay until I've had time to play.

Stuart is fantastic. Just a good guy.

I've had the same mods done and I think they're great improvements also.

Curious to hear how you think the US EDC has changed the stock ZCP ride? I have H&R Sport springs and to me, they took the ride back to feeling more stock. Initially when I fitted the springs, I felt as though they were 10-20% firmer.

Of all the GTS mods, i'd say the GTS Diff makes the most difference.

I also had ASD coded off at the same time which took away much of the atmosphere in the cabin. As i've mentioned in some other threads, i'm planning on turning that on.

Yeah mate. Tried the ASD off for 30 seconds then back on.

The US EDC change is pretty significant as I drove to work. It's much more compliant on the same route to work and I'm thoroughly impressed.

The H and R springs on my previous AMG went on for two weeks then straight off. Just to back jarring for me.

Overall I would definitely recommend all of these.

I'll probably get the carbon lip wrapped and installed by Stuart if the price is decent.

softer zcp suspension sounds interesting

what's the process and how can it be reversed, is a backup of stock coding stored somewhere

Mate the EDC coding is already present on there - Stuart just unlocks it. It can be reversed.

It's very worthwhile.

Such a big improvement ride wise that I can't see any reason to change back.

Stuart can come on and clarify this

If the dealer updates the software in your car for whatever reason, all coding is deleted and reverted back to stock!

Indeed mate.

My dealer knows never to update the ECU or anything else.

I do it once before sale.

MO3 I asked Stuart about this. As he's got 'your' file ready, he can simply load it again if this happens.

domino_z I found the stock ZCP suspension a little harsh, then added springs, harsher, then US EDC and couldn't believe how different it felt. Like I said above, essentially back to stock, but it may be better than stock even. I drive on some shitty roads in Sydney (King St, Newtown), and have found it's still complaint even on the worst dips and bumps. I'm not sure why it's not set this way in AU by default. I can only imagine what it might feel like with stock ZCP springs.

Do you think the DCT flashing puts any additional strain on the system?

Hell no. If anything it’s smoothed it out a little.

It’s funny, my very first reaction Post GTS/EDC/ASD coding was that the car felt significantly more refined.

I think a lot of that has to do with ASD being off, but it’s more than that.

This is how the ZCP car should have come from factory

I was thinking more with the rapid upshifts. I thought the GTS had additional DCT cooling. I may be wrong though.

That's good then! Talk about good service

Stuart did mine as well. Way smoother and refined. No more clunking and banging. Traction control way less intrusive. Great mod.

I yanked out the AS in the first week I gt the car. They just plug it back in when you need a software update and unplug it again.

The Akra is plenty loud with Dp's. I don't need weird sounds coming from speakers. Exhaust noise should come from the rear, not from around you.
