Freight & PDI

Whats everyone been charged for freight and pdi? I am being charged:

Freight - $1,595
PDI - $1,395

Seems pretty high to me but i would like to hear from everyone else.

Wouldnt the PDI be waived if you're doing ED?

Thanks in advance!

Your dealer is ripping you off.

I paid $950 freight and $1295 PDI.

I paid $1295 PDI and $1035 freight. This was ED, but does not really matter. They do "PDI stuff" at the Welt, then again at the dealer. The work gets done somewhere.

This is where BMW Canada can improve on. They should have a set price for freight and pdi that all dealers have to follow. But instead, they let the dealers gouge customers and sometimes even use this loophole to charge more for a "high demand" car.

So I'm being charged close to 800 more? Oh man. I need to have a conversation with my dealer.

Are these for 2017 m3's?

Well, it is really the bottom-line price that matters, whether they charge you for PDI or not.

So, you get charged for the dealer inspecting their own product?

Let's say, I'm selling my MPE to someone.

I would inspect my OWN MPE, and then charge the buyer for this "service".

I gotta be missing something here.

Not necessarily for "inspection", but essentially the service required in order to get the car road-ready. However, it should not be anywhere near the $1k+ we're being charged.

FWIW, I paid $2,145 for freight & pdi, as per bmw.ca's website.

I would want to know, specifically what they are doing €to make a brand new car road worthily.

Laughable.

Laughable.
Remove shipping blocks, remove plastic wrap, reprogram ECU so that it is not in transport mode, deflate tires to correct PSI ... and that's about all I can think of.

Well after talking to the dealer, they reduced down to 2295. Seems reasonable now.

Unbelievable. Next they will charge you for the parking spot rent till you drive it off the lot.

I agre with you. In Canada we do get ripped off on a bunch of things not to mention the 13% sales tax.
