2012 BMW M3 I am thinking about flying to buy. Thoughts?

I was thinking about flying to buy this m3. I have been looking for a 2011+ for a long time. I just realized in the pictures it has the carbon fiber roof with a sunroof? I am pretty sure this wasn't an option. Also, after doing a vin search it says it has the competition package, is this the case? What features did this add? How do you guys feel about the price?

Thanks,

Drew.

Sunroof alone means no carbon roof. It was likely wrapped, since the rails are still white.

Competition package adds 19" 359M wheels, 10mm lower springs, and revised EDC dampening with active setting enabled in sport II mode.

Price seems to be ok . But a E92 carbon roof with a sunroof is not possible .
From the pictures I noticed the driver seat looks pretty bad .The Novillo leather is full with creases and wrinkles !

I would pass on that. For one, it looks like someone really heavy owned it judging by the creases on the seat or they didn't condition them at all. I think shopping around for a quality, lower mileage example would be a good idea, don't settle!

No way man, I have big legs, and my seats are not creased at all. I condition them and take care of them once a month though. It's probably just never been condition, or they sat like a jackass in the car

You guys are rough. I love my M3, but I drive it daily and I've gotten creases in my seats.

Someone has put some mods on the car. Wrapped roof, painted stock brakes, aftermarket painted kidney grills, hood vents, side markers, side skirt blade additions.

Key thing to find out is maintenance history.

I'm going to give it to you straight here...your numbers are off based on my perception of your budget.

100k CPO is what you're looking for? Then You're looking at 2011+ at this point. Factory original warranty is 4 years, and CPO adds 2 more. 2017 minus 6 = 2011. So you need a 2011-2013 car. 2011 will be just exiting CPO warranty, so realistically, if you want the benefits of the warranty, you need a 2012+ car.

2012+ ZCP cars under 50k miles would be low $40k.

Thanks man. I have had really good luck with honest people on this forum. I am kinda dumb to car knowledge but have been an avid m3 fan since my 05' 330ci I used to own. Have the money now to get, honestly, my dream car.

Yup it's hard to find the cream puffs with everything you want. I just got insanely lucky with mine, wasn't even planning on buying an E92 M3 but saw the ad and I just had to have it. It's my perfect spec I would've ordered if I was in a position to buy one when they were new.

You'll eventually find the car you want and it'll be so worth it!

Also: wrong subforum.

My suggestion, and not to sound rude, but do some research. There are at least 4 cars that fit your criteria on eBay alone. When I look for a car I exhaust all options and search every database available to me and I found the exact car I wanted. Do a little leg work and you'll find what you want. Good luck with your search

I actually think other than the driver's seat, the car looks pretty decent and the price isn't too bad. Carfax looks fine, though there are some early maintenance details missing. I could see paying $31-32K for it with a clean PPI.

I know of one in Florida. One owner private seller. I Have driven it. White with black interior, sunroof, painted black wheels, 6Mt, Nav etc... Unmolested, zero mods. Right at 50,000 miles. $28,000 to $30,000 range. Can't recall what he is asking but I'm thinking at $28,000 or a little under the car can be had. Does need a few minor things but overall a nice car.

The sunroof alone is a deal breaker to me. That and the car does not look clean, so probably beat on and not taken care of. Easy pass for me.
