Solid vs Black Powerflex Subframe Bushings

Anyone here have experience with both? The car is 80% track and 20% weekend car for reference.

I have the black on my diff with solid everywhere else. I think you get most of the stiffness with less vibration and noise although you will get much more NVH than stock. If you still drive on the street, I would do the black. I think the biggest benefit of solid is you never have to replace them.

Search solid subframe bushings. They are reported to add none to little nvh.

It's the differential bushing you need to be concerned about when choosing material and it's effects on nvh.

That's good to know, I assumed the subframe bushings would have more effect on NVH than differential.

This car will see very few miles so I'm not super concerned with longevity tbh

I have solid AL subframe bushings with powerflex purple diff bushings and the only NVH difference is additional driveline sound including diff whine, which seems to be attributed to the diff bushings rather than the subframe bushings.

Hmmmph might have to return these black bushings and go with solid AL ones. Anyone here DIY the subframe bushings? I assume no... Really don't want to pay labor twice if black ones aren't firm enough.

Yea, I would switch. This was actually the first time I ever let a shop work on one of my cars...was kinda nice (except for the bill of course). I definitely didn't have the space in my underground parking garage for a task like this though! There is a DIY for it on this forum though.

Link to DIY. Looks pretty involved.

If you do yours, want to stop by and do mine too?

I have solid subframe bushings and purple powerflex sitting on my table.

Yeah just bought a house and have a decent garage (silicon valley, so not really that big lol...) But I've been considering a mini lift for these more time intensive jobs, using the HPA tool supposedly helps a lot.

I'm thinking it'd be like $600-700 for the bushings... Probably gonna just go that route. Ordering solid ones from Turner now.

Ha, I pinged you earlier this week about those. Probably will pick them up new as it's the same price.

I actually haven't pulled the trigger, wondering if the black bushings might be "more doable DIY-able" in order to save some $ for the bbk fund.
