255/40R18 for front on OEM M219s

Has anyone run 255/40 on the OEM 18" wheels in front? I want to get more front end grip as I've noticed on track and autocross that the front tires give up before the rear in most situations.

The 255/40 is slightly taller than stock. According to the tire comparison sites about 0.25 inch bigger in diameter. Pricing is similar to the 245/40... has anyone run this config on a lowered car with no rubbing under cornering on track?

Running this size and no issues on Swift lowering springs. I do have around 2degreees of negative camber. On stock suspension no problems at all. Tires is RE-71R

depends on your tire, I run ad-08r in this size and they barely rub/not rub under full lock.

How's your tire wear? usually due to camber you're inner edges will run too hot and cause the front to give out.

If you've already noticed the lack of front-end grip on 245s, you're not going to be happy with the balance of 255s either. Either find a set of rear 18x9.5 wheels to run up front, get an aftermarket set of wheels, or prepare for disappointment.

Even on 275 square on a 9.5" or 10" front wheel you're still going to want more front end grip for autox on a stock suspension. Trying to make due with the 18x8.5" up front is just wasting time and money.
