SCCA National Solo Championships -- who's going
Let us know if you are heading out to Lincoln, what class/car/number you'll be running and what paddock you may be in if you are in a group paddock. I'm signed up for FS and will be in the Milwaukee/Chicago paddock and hanging with friends trying not to embarrass myself.

I'll be running in F-Street (#178) and co-driving with my father-in-law (#78). Will likely be bouncing between the Arizona and Minnesota paddocks. Also planning to run in the ProSolo finale. Looking forward to seeing some more E9Xers out there in FS!

I'll be running FS, but most likely in my LSB e46 M3 (#95) - Jason Proksch. e90 M3 as backup if I can't get the e46 M3 dialed in after recent changes. (This will be my 7th time and first time of repeating the same car same class as driven previously.) I'll be paddocking with St. Louis.

I'm in this year. Hopefully my tires ship by then, otherwise I'll be on the less than optimal backups.
My dad should be co-driving with me as well since my younger brother and the head B-Mod mechanic aren't available. FS sounded like less work than BM for him. |

So if you are in Lincoln definitely drop down to the Haymarket area downtown. Hopcat has a gazillion (+/-) good beers on tap and their pretzel nugs are money (though the rest of the menu is just ok). Lots of good eating and drinking in that area. Buzzard Billies has some cajun goodness cooking up.
Hankering for some cow? Misty's is tasty, but not autocrosser cheap (heh) eats. I like their prime rib. Don't forget to pick up a seasoning packet for free on the way out. Good to use on your own grilling time. Hope you all go cone free and are micrometer perfect! I'll be there but I'll be in the stadium watching humans willingly collide with each other for my entertainment.

Our run days are Tues/Wednesday so no conflict with Husker nation. I'll check out the places you mentioned. As long as it's not Lazlos, I'm game. Lazlos is a bit overplayed IMO.

interesting. What are your thoughts about the BFG's. Edit -- read your write up but wanted to see the comparison to RE71's which you had not driven on in the car.

I have driven an S2000 on the Stones and Rival 1.5's. Rivals are more forgiving and by that I mean larger slip angles before saying hello spin cycle. So we'll give these a try. First event is on the 15th of July on a large asphalt surface. Next will be a smaller asphalt surface. Won't see any concrete until Lincoln.

I was in tire panic mode earlier this week. I managed to find a set of 265's, and am in line for a set of 275 and 285s. Hopefully something shows up.
Also, forgot to post numbers. I'm running #196, pops is running #96. I have to buy new numbers now since someone sniped 93 before the old man could register. , |

My tiny little 255s arrived today (one day after talking to tirerack!).
e46 M3 prep is not going so well though. Making some drastic changes tomorrow. I've always got my backup e90 which needs no setup though. |

Had my Nat'l pair of 285's mounted on the fronts today after some hiccups with the prior wheel/tire shop. Pretty stoked. Now to get the rears mounted, get all scrubbed and let the chips fall where they may. 1 month out and registration with karts included is pushing 1230.

I'm still making tweaks to the car. I just got my alignment checked earlier this week, who'da guessed that toe out in the rear is bad? That explains my ill-handling issue so far this year.
Tires are here, new brake pads are here, time to get goin'. Last edited by Wisco M3; 08-03-2017 at 12:55 PM.. |
