Thumbs down This rust is annoyingly consistent on all the M cars I have owned

Never seen salt or snow. Only 10k miles and rust galore in the hub First on the E46M3, then on the E90 M3 and now the F80. Will BMW ever care to address this? I guess not but I must vent

Happens on almost all cars.. the hubs aren't painted, normal rust buildup.. I used a drill with a wire brush attachment, removed it all and then used never dull and polished it out a bit. Seems to last for awhile..

Mine looks waaaaay worse. Never seen snow or salt either. Just waiting for my hub to crumble into pieces...

I covered mine in copper grease when I first bought the car (put in spacers) and it keeps them from rusting.

Per other post, if you clean them up with a wire brush and coat with grease they should stay rust free

On my e92, I ran wheels that had no center caps and looked terrible with rust. I sanded down the rust and sprayed the area flat black. Didn't have any issues with rust afterwards.

Happens on most every car. As others have said, clean it off and coat it with something to keep rust at bay.
