GTS and autocross
I know our cars weren't developed for auto-x, but beggars can't be choosers...
I'm at track setting and running 10 mm spacers on the stock tires. What should I set my front lip and rear aero to? Primarily low speeds (may hit 100kph for a spilt second). I'm currently at 3/8 out on the lip and middle setting on the lip. Just curious.

If you got time and that spirit you could test a few different. Other then that, the more front splitter Is pulled out the rear angle should follow to also bigger angle.
I would not bother anything but max aero front and rear. Anyway, at these kind of events the one who bother heat up tire to propper pressure/temp prior to the accually run will win anyway:-) If its only single runs. Have fun and god luck👍🏻 ( also see the BMW M trackbook that come with car, they cover aero In It ) Last edited by Captain Unknown GT4; 06-14-2017 at 04:36 AM.. |

Personally, I don't see how max aero would help at an autox, the speeds aren't that high, and with the front lip hanging out I think it would increase the chances of nipping a cone. Most of my autoxing was done with my 95 M3 and it was a rare day to get out of 2nd gear, the way these things are geared you can probably run most courses in 1st. Just sayin.

At relatively low autocross speeds, aero will not make a big difference. However, if you have the time to do so, I would still put it to the max setting. Every bit helps

I'd use the front lip in cow catcher mode to deflect cones that you will hit. Also, put from tape on the leading edge. If you don't snag a few cones, you're not pushing it.

Max aero and painters tape over all the CF edges. Also, if you are serious about the auto x time - you could look into an auto x alignment. There are toe out settings that will help rotate your car faster around the cones.
