Tires for daily driver
The oem PSS are starting to get worn and I'm wondering if I should stick with them or change it up. I commute about 60mi a day 90% highway driving. While I try to have some fun and push it when I can, unfortunately my commute just doesn't allow for that too much. I can't help but think I'm "wasting" some of the performance of these tires.
Is there a better/less expensive option that will give me good enough performance and tread life for my needs? Good wet grip is also important as we get a lot of rain here in south Florida. I'm on the factory 18" wheels if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help! |

When my PSS tires wore out, I got a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ which are high performance all weather tires. I have been very satisfied with them. They are quieter, much better in the wet, and I really don't feel that I have lost any daily driver performance. I know a lot of people look down on all weather tires, but I like them.
P.S. I got them from Tire Rack

I put on continental DW's in 265/40/18 and 285/40/18 and have been very pleased. There is some trade-off in sharpness - I can't quantify how much is from a softer sidewall vs. taller tire - but I can't complain with either performance or daily driveability. A meaningful improvement in comfort and very quiet. Tramline a bit.
Would I do it again? Hard to say. We'll see how they operate with 15000 miles on them. |

The new Michelin PS4s are awesome. They're quieter and more comfort with all the performance and cheaper than the pss. You should give it a try.

I would recommend the 4S, They are a noticeable difference from the Supersports and have a nice ride to boot. Figure the life should be a bit better too. If I grabbed an extra 5-8k miles on them I'm even happier.

I looked online for p4s' and it seems like they dont make them yet in the size I would need so that's temporarily of the list of choices. |

Sidewalls are very soft, but they're great for those who hate true winter tires. MP4S should last longer than MPSS, I would go with MP4S. All seasons are never great for a high performance car.

Stick with MPSS or 4's. I've tried harder tires but it's not worth the sacrifice of grip.
