Best rear tires for traction on 19" wheel 2017 F80 competition package

Just got the 2017 F80 with competition package. The car is an absolute beast. Definitely feels like more than 450hp and the new exhaust is absolutely crazy. From a stand still without launch control or power breaking I can bake first, second and half of third lol. What would be the best rear tires on the 19" wheels??

Toyo R888's are your best bet for a DD.

Bridgestone RE11 or RE71, Yoko AD08, Dunlop SSII, etc. All good options for getting better traction with 19" wheels. I've ran the RE11s on multiple vehicles, including the ZCP, and I enjoy those tires a lot. Wear well, not overly loud, and reasonably priced.

Thank you. But what size do you recommend? 295 on stock 19x10 wheel?

my recommendation is 265/285 for the OEM 19'' wheels. I think some have squeezed 275/295 though.

Yes only if you don't run spacers.

Don't even think about DD with R888
Great tire, but not one for a car you actually use every day.
Unless you have driven a farm tractor at 55mph down the road,
they are absolutely the loudest tire you have ever heard. You will think something is wrong with your car the first time you drive with them. Plus you will heat cycle them out.. FYI, I've been though about 10 sets of R888

Stick with the RE71-r for the street. Also the RE71-r "look" like they are a bit wider for their size.

Michelin PSC2. I'm running 265/295 and dry traction is awesome! Wet performance has been great, too. I've been in moderate-heavy rain and have had zero traction/hydroplaning issues.

I would recommend MPSS and depending on the size of wheel you have I would go for a 10" wheel M5/M6 spec MPSS 295/35/19 or 11" MPSS or PS2 305/30/19 both with 265/35/19 fronts.

While loudness is subjective, I don't think you can reach temperatures high enough to heat cycle them out from road use.. can you? I'm speaking of normal driving, some slight spirited driving, etc. But nothing illegal where you're really pushing it.

I'm currently running 285/35 RE-71R's in the rear and I'm thinking of upgrading to R888's for everyday use. The noise isn't an issue since my car is extremely loud, but I am worried about use in the rain. It's pouring in NYC right now, but I'm not going for them if I'll aquaplane while driving 40mph on the highway.

Aquaplaning will be an issue with r888.
Also R888 really don't like near freezing temperatures and yes having them on a car will hurt them if you daily drive. You don't necessarily need to get them up to race temps to basically heat cycle them out.
Also they can and will get hot even on the street in the summer.
FYI Even a loud exhaust might not cover up the road noise.
I operated my 911 with r888 under very light daily street use for about a month and when I hit the track they completely fell apart from a performance standpoint. I had ruined them.
You should think about them as a slick with groves and treat them as such.
They are a great track tire and can get you to the track and back.

Also, I'm not sure how much faster an r888 will be over an Re71-r. A lot of people has said they are just as fast. I've got a lot of lap data on the r888 and some on the re71-r, unfortunately not on the same cars, but I have good cross comparison to draw an indirect conclusion that the re71-r is less than 1.5 seconds slower than an r888 at Sebring, road Atlanta, VIR. Granted 1.5 is a huge difference but if your not racing, just doing DE, the re72-r may be better because don't have to mess around (as much) your first 2 laps getting them up to temp. A big plus when you only go hot for 1/2 hour.

Correct but the market is limited and the R888's are better option than MT for DD.

R888 is not a street tire... ride is harsh, lots of road noise and, overall dangerous for street use (especially rain).

I would replace your rear tires with the M5/M6 star spec MPSS 295/35/19 it's designed to fit on the 10" wheel... it's tread is as wide as 305/30/19. Put the front 265/35/19 MPSS M0 spec AMG GTS tires.

The cup 2's are great in rain & DD. But if you start Modding then you will need a more aggressive tire. If you ask anyone who has 550+-580Hp they will agree. The cup 2's won't help that much! I run the R888's only in the rear, no issues but I don't race in rain of course.
