Will The Orbit Grey 763M wheels become an option for normal/competition M4?

My question is above

Since I can't get a manual in a CS and the value isn't there, I'm looking at a M4 ZCP 6MT as an alternative and I would love those rims in orbit grey over the black.

I will bet no. BMW will keep them special hence they are on the m4cs. You can always fork over cash to buy them out of the m performance catalog

Even the black 763M aren't going to be a factory option for the standard M4. They will be made available by way of a port installed package with Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, or you will be able to purchase them aftermarket. While the Orbit Gray version probably won't be available through the former means, most people won't want to go that route anyway since you lose the ability to sell your factory wheels to offset some of the cost (although if you are leasing that gets messy).

Even if the Orbit Gray version aren't added to the official M Performance Parts catalog, you should still be able to order them just like any other part. Now, what you won't likely see is the 19x10 rear in this color since no vehicle will have that part in OEM spec. That is, unless the M2 CS just happens to be spec'd out with these same style and color wheels. But that is a long shot and would be at least a year out anyway.

For the record: alloy size information:
  • 437M for M2/M3/M4 - 19"F+R - Jet Black or Ferric Grey: 9Jx19 ET29 (F) + 10Jx19 ET40 (R)
    Europe: here | USA: here
  • 763M 'M Performance' for M2/M3/M4 - 19"F+R - Matte Black or Gold: 9Jx19 ET29 (F) + 10Jx19 ET40 (R)
    Europe: here | USA: here
  • 763M for M4 CS - 19"F + 20"R - Orbit Grey: 9Jx19 ET29 (F) + 10Jx20 ET40 (R) (source confirming those ET values: here and here)
About the forthcoming 763M wheels with 'gold finish' (M2/M3/M4 size): see here. Maybe those could be a better start for color treatment to obtain a gunmetal color similar to 'Orbit Grey', than the 'matte black finish' ?

The forthcoming 'M2 Competition' is scheduled to get the black 437M wheels stock (same as on the base M2) and 788M wheels as an option. The 788M is a brand-new wheel. We don't know yet how these look, but could decipher the following on the basis of leaked USA-spec 'M2 Competition' VINs:
  • standard: 19" 437M wheels (code 2VZ: 19"lt/aly Wheels Do.sp. 437 M/mt Bl 19"m Lm Raed.doppelspei. 437 M/mb S)
  • optional: 19" Y-spoke 788M forged leightweight wheels (code 2QT 19"m Law.ý-sp.788 M For. Mt. 19"m Lmr Y-sp.788 M Ge. Mb) (LMR = Leichtmetallräder = leight(weight) metal wheels | Ge. = geschmiedet = For. = forged | Mt. and Mb = maybe Matte Black ?)
About Y-spoke design: see for example here.

Take a look at the M3 ‘CS’ mule in the other thread. Orbit grey 763’s... with the m performance logo on them... so there maybe hope.

I bought the OEM black 763M rims and painted them in Orbit grey. Problem solved.

You can order the 763M CS rims in Germany for 1748 euro (9Jx19) and 2039 euro (10Jx20).
https://www.baum-bmwshop24.de/bmw-al...0-et-40-m4-cs/

By painting them, i saved 3500 euro's.

Got a couple of questions for you.

Where did you manage to get your black 19" 763M wheels (M Performance) painted in 'Orbit Grey' finish ? Or did you do it yourself ?

Appreciated if you'd post some pictures of your result.

Please explain how you calculate saving €3.5K. A set of black 763M wheels (without the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, which are normally equally supplied: see here) already sets you back ± €5K (see for example here) and the paint & paint treatment ain't free either.

FWIW please note that the 'B35' paint code for 'Orbit Grey' refers to a body color paint code - not to a wheel paint code. BMW seems a little secretive about how the 'Orbit Grey' wheel paint is composed.

I bought the 763M set in July this year, prior to the release of the M4 CS.

In July bauM-bmwshop.de was the only option for the OEM 763M in orbit grey.

Baum prices were then: 3496 front rims (L&R) + 4078 rear rims (L&R)= 7574 euro

I'm a bmwmclub.nl member and we get 11% discount at our local BMW dealer (Breeman). I paid 3600 (for 2x 9Y and 2x 10Y 763M).
The repaint costs were 500 euro and was done by a reputable shop.

By the way, our prices are higher in the Netherlands due to higher taxes.

I couldn't any info about another code (then B35) for orbit grey rim paint.
Please elaborate.

Anyone seen the Orbit Grey available for purchase? Also would love to see Orbit Grey wheels on a BSM car if anyone has seen that
