TE37SL vs. ZE40

Hi all,

Anyone have experience with both of these that could lend some input? I've been considering picking up a set, but the ZE40 seems to be harder to find specs on. I'm looking for 18's because of the tire options, and also I have read that both of these wheels in 18's will fit 380mm BBK front and rear. Let me know your thoughts.

Edit: I should have clarified, the weight specs for the ZE40 are elusive.

The ZE40 for the E92 is a 18x9.5 +20 front and a 18x10.5 +20 rear.

I have those in stock in a bronze and a diamond dark gunmetal.

People say 18s are easier to find tires for but it was a headache finding tires for my TEs. Seems there's better options on 19s :

Do you have the weights on these? Always thought the bronze looked great.

I wouldn't say so, you can run 275/35/18 square which every time comes in. You can also do 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 with Hankook RS3/4 but I would honestly recommend 275 square with better Bridgestone RE71, Michelin PSS or Toyo R888R tires.

19" wheels have limited sizes depending on the offset.

Fronts are 18.4lbs in a 18x9.5. I dont have the exact weight on the rear in front of me, but its going to be just a tiny bit heavier.

Appreciate it! A little surprised, was thinking they'd slightly be lighter than the te37's weighing 18lbs in a 18.9x5.

there will be slight differences depending on what offset has been weighed as well. They are very close to the same weights as the TE37 across the board.

That diamond dark gunmetal is so sexy. Wish the TE37 Ultras were available in it, it would have been my number one color choice!

I guess for a 275 square set up it would be easier. But I was looking for a 265 or 275 front and 295 of 305 rear.

Both sexy wheels, and love the new ones. Went with te37sl's because I think they retain a design that pretty much never goes out of style, sexy now as it was 10 years ago.
And yea deft go with 18s, best tire selection especially if running sticky tires. Ran 19s and 20s and will never go back thats for sure.

F1FL Do it! I have been pondering a bronze set of ZE40s when it is time to get new tires.

When you think you're about 3 months away from needing new tires, reach out to me. If they aren't in stock in the US, they typically take about that much time to get ordered in. If they happen to have them in stock, you would also be welcome to leave a deposit on them and hold them till you are ready.
