Ti Bolts or Stud Conversion?
Wanted to ask the community on their experience with Stud Conversion kits. I was originally planning to go just with Ticore Titanium bolts when I mount my FI-R wheels next week, but my shop showed me some pretty nice conversion kits, and now I'm reconsidering.
I plan to hit the local track this summer but I only plan to swap wheels when going from summer tires to snow tires. Any particular Stud Kits that are preferred for the M3 and has anyone ever run into issues with Stud Conversions? I tried searching the Wheel & Tire forum but I couldn't find anything. Thanks for the help. |

You don't want to use titanium lug bolts. Search this forum or Google.
My wife's 335is Coupe has run a stud conversion kit (12x1.5mm)from Motorsport Hardware for over five years now, no problems. When I ordered the Apex EC-7 wheels for my M4 I just went with Apex's stud conversion kit (14x1.25mm)and they shipped the kit with the wheels. You should also get at least one spare bolt and two spare nuts. If you're only going to swap wheels/tires twice a year though, I don't really see how a stud conversion kit would have any real value to you.

Thoughts on this? http://www.mrgraceco.com/store/p28/M..._of_20%29.html
Im also ready to convert and want something strong and with the option to add spacers if needed so definitely extended studs. I have to do a search but does anyone know the stock stud length size? |

Why do you "need something strong"? Is this for a dedicated race car, an occasional track day where you're going to swap wheels and tires, or is this just for the street? Because if it's for the street, you don't even need a stud conversion kit.
