Using Micheline PS4 up fronts and leaving Bridgestone PP S04 in rear
I want to replace my front Bridgestone AS tires soon as they wear on the inside; they are bald. I could swap sides but that is about $40 labor cost that I can put in new set of tires. Can I just buy the new Michelin PS4 for the fronts?
The rear was replaced 15k miles ago with Bridgestone PS S04 and it has more than half the tread left. I want to keep these rear tires until they need to be replace with Michelin PS4 which is what I want on the car eventually. The 2 brands are both max performance tires, but are there going to be any issues with mixing brands? If it is, I rather be on the side of safety. This is my daily driver to work and highway driving. depends on how much you like to screw around. if you have a very spirited driving style, it is generally ill advised to mix tires, since you're adding a variable that is going to be hard to predict. it is very reasonable to assume that the ps4's are a superior tire to the bridgestones. that means you'll be more likely to oversteer. harder to recover from than understeer if you're not expecting it.

If you have any doubt, I would just go with the Bridgestones for now. They are a pretty good bang for the buck tire anyhow. You'll likely want new rears once the rainy season approaches next Fall if you are at less than 3-4/32's so just switch over to the PS4's then.
