Installation of VSC-2 Sound Controller

Hey guys, just wondering if the installation of this sound controller can be completed by ourselves or it is recommended to be done by car body shops.

For anyone who has used similar valve controller products, does it generate error code that can be noticed by BMW service which void warranty(I doubt)?

Also, I am thinking to add 3rd party(Mars Performance) front and rear M performance style parts on my new 2017 M3(not actual BMW M performance due to the price), would it be considered as body modification in Allianz's policy:

"Has your vehicle been modified in any of the following ways: engine, body/paint, suspension or wheels?"

Cheers

You can do it yourself. There are some good videos as well as step-by-step floating around in these forums.

Has anyone fitted these parts from Mars Performance?

Is it much like adding IND/RKP vs M Performance, or lower quality?

Looking on their site, pricing seems to be about 2/3 of the M Performance cost.

I will check it out on Friday, apparently, the place I will get my paint protection has two M3 which have installed these Mars parts.

Btw, I am getting my new M3 delivered tomorrow. BMW is trying to sell me their motor insurance with quote price 0f $4000 while I was quote with $3000 on Allianz website, both 1200 excess. What do you guys think, does it worth $1000 more just for the benefit of using authentic BMW part during repair?

From what I understand, Allianz will allow for choice of repairer and genuine parts, but double check.

I wouldn't trust the internet for this type of information.

Congrats on getting your car tomorrow. Lots of pics please!

Also, which shop are you referring to on the Mars Performance parts?

True, I will go through the paperwork.

The place is called "Armour Wrap", I believe this is just a new name of their previous shop "Car Skinning". You can check out their work on their website:
http://www.carskinning.com.au
Adress: Unit 25 & 26, 19 McCauley St, Matraville 2036
They seem to have a lot of experience dealing with premium cars based on the demonstration pictures. The owner Zach himself used to own an F80 M3, will have a talk with him tmr to see what options he chose for his old vehicle.

$4k?! Are you 18 years old?! I thought $880 was amazing from RACV so I took it.
