diagnose my rear tire wear.. new nt01, 1 trackday

Question for experienced track rats..

This is my NT01, rear, after 1 track day.. 7 sessions, 20 minutes.. around 1:47 pace at laguna.

right side is outside edge.

Do I need more rear neg camber?

How do your fronts look? I get a similar wear, but by the time I have rotated them to the front and they get bald, the tires have pretty even wear and they are spent.

fronts look much more even. unfortunately this is a f82 and i'm running an non square setup - 275/305. So can't rotate.. my alignment guy says it might need adjustment, adjust toe or somethign.. he'll take a look next week.

it doesn't really look like you're scrubbing them enough to really wear the edges as rapidly as you think. meaning- the tires look pretty clean for a track day. what hot psi were you running them at? i'm thinking maybe too low of psi at laguna might cause more edge wear. i run a little lower psi at the big roval tracks where i'm scrubbing at highers speeds and creating a lot of heat (more hot pressure), but at laguna seca, i think my sweet spot has been 32 psi hot.

"Moar negative camber please" is what that tire is telling me.

You can flip them inside out on the rim if you start to wear the outside too much.

This if the car's balance feels good don't touch anything and just flip them after a couple days. Soft stockish springs will let the rear suspension start to decamber a bit more than optimal but that's not a good reason to wreck the car's balance if it's handling well

Also the sjoulder will look worse than it really is if you drive a cooldown lap without loading them up because the outside shoulder gets hot and then doesn't get scrubbed against the road during the cool-down/paddock driving

this! great advice thank you! .. that's probably what's happening.. also I was running 36 psi hot on my nt01, I believe I should run lower pressure right - 33-34?

We are just old and slow in general. Yes lower pressure hot is better on nt01s

32 is the sweet spot for me at Laguna. I forgot to check pressures on a new set of tires once and I was struggling for traction in the front and back. It makes a big difference.

Considering the right side is the outter edge. Either a, you have too much camber for that track and/or you ability, or two you havent pushed hard enough. If you notice that line by the right side, thats where your grip potential is ending. Meaning you have about a half inch ish (im not there) of tire potential. Personally i think youre ok, you have room to grow.
