Track Excercises

This might be old hat to some of you veterans, but I know that sometimes as I get to the last couple of sessions of the day, I don't fell like I'm improving much. Rather than throwing in the towel for that last session, I came across this page which has some interesting exercises that I think I'll try during those last 1 or 2 sessions of the day:

I kinda try to do this in the warm up/cool down laps. More so following the "line" at a slower pace to visualize ideal car placement.
I haven't done the left side right side thing.
One thing I need to work on is to stop trying to go fast too soon.

That gets so complicated. Focus on thing at a time for the entire session and you will get a new personal best every time guaranteed as a side effect.

All I had to do last time was make sure I'm looking waaaay ahead and I dropped 2 seconds just from doing that.

Not sure if this is an exercise but I try and jog the track either in the morning or evening. You'll learn a lot.

I've always wanted to walk a track, but I have never felt like it was allowed. Especially Laguna Seca.

some ideas:
on track: drive offline. as much as you can stay offline. hit apexes, but enter offline, and track out offline. play with varients to force yourself to be comfortable at odd places on the track.

track walk/jog/bike: like mentioned above, great tool to learn the track flow, especially camber.

off track: practice 'crazy 8s' before you get in the car. this warms up your eyes and peripheral vision. hold your thumb up, and draw figure 8s in the air. keep head forward, and follow the pattern moving your eyes only.

also, even though they tend to be long days, try to get some cardio or other light exercise in. it helps get the body warmed up for the physical aspects of driving.

I found cycling amazing for determining grip levels (I could hear the tires separating from the pavement!) and also grades. I have walked a track numerous times, but never appreciated grades and camber until biking it.
