Cold Weather Driving

Hey guys,

I picked up an E92 M3 last year with some Michelin Pilot Sports on it. About 1,000 miles ago, when I bought the car, the PPI showed the tread to be about ~6mm on the front and back tires. Fronts were produced in 2014, rears from 2015.

I didn’t plan on driving it much in the cold so I failed to invest in a winter setup right off the bat. Since then I’ve been putting off a 100mi (highway) service trip because of the cold temps.

This weekend is looking to fluctuate between 45-60* F and I'm debating making that trip. Are these safe temps to put my summer tires on the road? I have my concerns and respect this car too much to go on a whim, so I figured I would ask for some insight first. Thanks in advance.

Your tires are fine on dry or wet pavement. Just don't drive in snow or freezing rain.
