E36 camber plates
Not sure if this has been discussed before but I've been looking into getting camber plates and noticed that the E9x says it fits both E9x/E36 platform. Now all the E9x plates are over $500+ new but if you look into the E36 most are only $150+ depending on brand. Now I do know you get what you pay for but was wondering if the top hat is the same size and most importantly if they'll fit. Has anyone ever tried or heard of this being possible?

Which group are you looking at? I have ground control and they fit the E9X M3/ E8X 1M. I used E36 bump stops, those work, but not sure about putting E36 camber plates on a E9X.
Bimmerworld sells GCCP (used) when in stock for 349. |

That's what I've heard but I'm not too sure. Haven't found concrete evidence.

I spoke to Vorshlag about it and this is what they said. You can buy interchange parts from them:
Yes, the main parts of the E36 camber plates are used on the E82 and E90 cars. But we do change a number of things to make the E36 parts fit the E90: The spring perch is the most notable difference for use with OEM springs. For the E90/92 M3 / 1M the perch is shown above. The E90 non-M uses a different OEM style upper spring perch. The "top ring" is thicker on the E90. This is to ensure that the camber plates + spring perches are the same stack up height as the OEM parts. The thicker top ring ensures the front ride height isn't lowered. Lastly, we change the caster position of the bearing holder relative to the top plate on the E90, due to changes in the strut tower placement. |
