Helmet Reccomendations

Looking at buying a new helmet and want some input from fellow M3 owners. Right now I am using my nice motorcycle helmet (no snell rating) for autocross but planning on some track days this year so I would like to pick up a Snell2015 helmet.

I would prefer to stay under $400, so what is everyone on here running?

Thanks

Everyone's head shape is different - and different brands and models of helmets fit different heads well. What fits anyone here isn't necessarily going to fit you well - and fit is important beyond comfort. So recommendations from random people in this thread don't apply.

Go to a store with retail presence, try them on and see what fits you well.

Was just looking for user reviews and recommendations. I am aware of how they fit.

I've got the typical Asian egg head and the Racequip helmets were the most comfortable among whatever Pegasus Racing sells. They look to be of good quality despite the price.

HJCs damned near ripped the ears off my head.

I run a Suomy Apex motorcycle helmet now and love it. I tried some Arias on and none of there styles fit me correctly. I am leaning towards a Bell at this point. I just like to hear what people have experienced as far as wear/tear, how well padding holds up, etc.

Love my bell sport. Priced well, too.

Agreed on HJC. Super narrow fitment there.

My Bell held up well over the last 8 years or so. It's got sweat stains on the padding and the top thin foam is pretty much disintegrated now, but the main padding is still holding up well. It didn't have any funky chemical smells either when I got it.

That's good to know. A buddy of mine races motorcycles still (I quit) but has Bell as a sponsor and can get roughly 40% off any of their gear. Might see if I can take advantage of that.

Just make sure it is SAH or is at least drilled for Hans posts in case you want to add them. I have a Stilo with full electronics but that is out of your price range.
