Brake question

I am taking the e92 M3 to the track this spring and likely much more after that.
Does anyone have a comparison between a BBK that will fit on 18" wheels vs a BBK that requires 19". For example StopTech ST40 vs StopTech ST60. I'd prefer to stick with 18s because of tire cost and from what I've read only the ST40 will work on stock wheels. I currently have DINAN 19s and I'd like to not run those. I have a set of OEM 219s for track duty and will likely go to an 18" square setup.

i don't know about a comparison, but it is a fact that bigger isn't necessarily better when it comes to brakes. you really don't need a huge 380mm rotor and calipers that fill half the barrel of your wheel. sure they look cool, but know they are designed with aesthetics in mind.

other things to think about when exploring bbk's; pad shape availability, ease of pad change, rotor ring replacement cost. most importantly- performance. an added plus is reduction in rotating, unsprung weight.

this is the kit i have. it has been a fantastic kit. scroll down to read about it.

Thanks for the input. After searching and reading quite a bit (no comparisons found). I think I am going stock brakes and pads my first track day and go from there. Although I will flush my fluid with new stuff.
