Frequency of motor mount change
So I'm at 30k in a 2013, did 10 track days this year but prior miles were not aggressive, no standing launches . Mounts are destroyed and getting replaced under warranty. I noticed a clunk in hard acceleration. I run r comps and imagine in general the forces on a car at the track with heavy braking alone really stress the mounts. How often are people replacing them

Your motor mounts are bad at just 30k? And they're replacing them under warranty despite track usage? Wow. What was the specific failure?

I took mine out at 36k miles and they weren't broken, but they certainly didn't look too hot
That car hadn't been tracked at all I'm curious how my E92 ones look at 30k miles as that one has seen the track |

I'm curious - DCT or 6MT? Some of the extra trans weight is borne by the motor mounts and the DCT with its faster but just-as-hard shifts is putting more energy in a shorter time on each shift than a manual, and doing it more often because the gearing is closer. I do'nt have symptoms but I'm replacing mine this winter at 90k for the first time, mine's a 6-speed with nowhere near as much tracking but it had 2.5 seasons of pretty heavy autocross rotation on 295/315 Hoosiers, which is a lot of tossing that big weight back and forth at 1+g

Just curious it doesn't seem like it should matter THAT much; I'd think just sustained heat from the headers might heat cycle the rubber enough to cause them to fail a bit earlier there's a big difference between 20 minutes of track heat at WOT for 15 minutes of the 20 and even the hardest street driving

The car I did the rod bearings on Sunday was DCT and his mounts were shot (severely cracked but not leaking). Lots of track days.
My 6MT at 35k miles were not that bad. No open cracks but I've done an order of magnitude less track days than previous car.

I figured they would try to claim that your racing was considered extreme or excessive.

Think the last time I changed mine was at 110k-ish miles. Am over 150k now, and many more track days since. I should go take a look

that is probably the way to do it. i was told it is pretty easy to do when doing the rod bearings. i just wasn't ready to do rod bearings yet.

OE rubber engine mounts never last long for track use. I'd consider going with a solid mount. It does add NVH but it's not terrible. Depends on the amount of street driving you do.
