Wax Product
I am not a detailing expert and I am seeking some advice here. After car wash I usually just use Mother's car wax for my car. What brand you guys use and any special process you guys are taking? Thanks!

I use P21S, S100, and Collinite for wax.
I also use Ammonyc reflex and skin. skin every few washes followed by wax. the P21S and S100 waxes are pretty damn good IMO. |

That is a broad question, and you can go nuts with all the possibilities. I've tried so many products...In the end, most high-quality synthetic sealants will suffice and provide 6+ months of protection. Zaino and Sonax PNS are two popular products, but there are similar sealants from most major brands.

Yeah the "what wax is best question is very subjective" unfortunately as there are tons of great products out there.
The one constant though is if you want the best result you can get regardless of which product you choose it's all about the prep. If you don't prep the car correctly then you will likely get mediocre and possibly even bad results as the wax can magnify the imperfections that are already there. I have tried cheap stuff, Zaino, and now on my M4 I have ventured into glass nano coating using Kamikaze ISM. This is my best result but in fairness I also did a ton of steps prepping the car. It isn't cheap by any means but I should be set for about 18 months at a minimum and I have enough to do the car again so that's not bad from a value perspective. I talked for a long time about what to buy and then the best steps to a pretty famous detailing shop(PM me if you want the details) and they were great to work with. Here are my steps below. Step 1 - straight water rinse Step 2 - Iron -X to remove contaminants Step 3 - Dawn dish soap to strip wax Step 4 - Nanoskin the entire car(replaces claybar) Step 5 - Rinse and dry(optional) Step 6 - Polish with Sonax Perfect Finish and Rupes yellow pads(3 of them) Step 7 - Gyeon Prep to remove any polishing dust Step 8 - Kamikaze ISM Glass coat Step 9 - Kamikaze Overcoat as an extra barrier(24 hours after ISM) Step 10 - Take a big sigh of relief and admire the job done! Has anyone used the Adam's Americana Wax? If so what do you guys think of it both from a price and performance standpoint? Currently they are offering 15% off and free shipping over $50

In that price range, my favorite (though I've not tried many of the newer waxes) remains Chemical Guys 50/50. It is easier to apply and remove than Americana, it looks fantastic, particularly on darker colors. It has above average beading, and is pretty durable for a wax product. My favorite overall (that I've tried) is still the Zymol Glasur. In my experience, it has all the attributes of 50/50 with even better beading and durability. |
