New light-weight battery. Lite Blox. 1.9kg
Hey guys, just wanted to show you my new lightweight battery. It's made by Lite Blox in Germany. I picked up the 1.9kg model, but there is a 1.1kg and 2.6kg model as well. It should save me twice the weight that a carbon boot-lid would, at less than half the price.
I'll be installing it next weekend. I might relocate it to passenger compartment in order to save some weight on wiring. It's supposed to last a decade, so I'm hoping.. https://en.liteblox.de/shop/liteblox...acing-battery/ |

OEM battery is close to 60lb with brackets. I am using the voltphreaks vph900 which is about 2.5x heavier than this one and have not had issues yet. But haven't used it in cold yet, 50's is the coldest so far

I saw it on Lukester's car. I considered the slightly heavier model, but we'll see. I don't really foresee any problems, I heard this battery was made for our cars.

I should get a LW battery. Easy weight reduction, assuming no problems arise.

I have almost a year on my LiFePo voltphreaks battery in my car. Under 20F you do need to let it warm up for a minute before you start the car or it will take a couple extra cranks (sortof like the car did in 10F iwth the stock battery). Otherwise it's been like nothing ever happened, other than being 50lb lighter than stock.
I like the bracket cut in to the bottom of these, would have made mounting the Voltphreaks which is just a plain rectangular box a lot easier, I fabbed a custom cellulose, aluminum and titanium mounting apparatus to get it to stay in place and then wedged it with some fuel cell foam in case it ever comes loose so it can't flop around. With that bracket around the base you could probably just pick a couple existing battery hold-down holes in the battery enclosure and forget it Their more expensive 2.6kg model ($1500-ish) would be a better fit for a street car

Put a moderate load on it. Headlights and car in ACC power for a bit does the trick. It'll start if you don't do it but you might get a transient undervoltage or something dunno never personally had an issue even when I forgot in cold weather

Very nice. How does one register this battery in the car for it to recognize it?
