Jb4 Vbox testing - Ethanol mix Map 2, Map 7

I picked up a JB4 to do some further testing on...ran some tests with Map 1,2 and 7.

This is a JB4 car (M4 DCT) with BMC drop in filters, no other mods.

I'm running about 3 gallons of Ignite 114(E90) and the remainder pump 93.

I'll be adding more Vbox runs to this thread and should have the following for all maps once completed.

60-100mph
100-200kph
60-130mph

Some of the boost data from each map.

Map 1 was hitting 21psi

Map 2 was hitting about 21psi - 21.5psi

map 1 and 2 felt pretty much the same, 2 pulled a little harder in the higher gears but nothing huge.

Map 7 was hitting 24psi-24.5psi

This map ran great with no miss fires and was very smooth. - clearly its hauls ass.

Map 7 60-100 in 3.52 seconds, this could have been faster but I didnt go WOT till about 55mph.

Map 1 best 60-100 in 3.85 - most runs were typically in the 3.9-4.0 range with with 0 to -1% slope

Map 2 100kph-200kph in 7.49 seconds, 60-100 wasn't recorded for whatever reason but using the data on the graph below its about 3.9

Nice thread, I'm looking forward to your results. I'm a vbox man as well and it's nice to see some more times for these cars. Most guys are just interested in dyno runs which for me doesn't really mean much.

For reference I know a guy who ran 6.9s 100-200kph jb4 only on 93 octane. He now runs 6.6s with a flash/jb4 combo still on 93. His car will go deeper into the 6's once he sorts out his traction issues.

I had seen his post, do you recall what boost/map?

map 7 should get me in the 6's based on the 60-100 time.

It was on map 2. Not sure on boost but it should all be relative for the conditions etc since these cars target a certain load on the oem flash.

Yeah definitely, that 60-100mph has you in the 6's over 100-200kph.

Ran a 7 flat tonight with a poor start and 3rd gear boost limiting, should go 6.6s with a good start and no boost limiting.

Map 2 for me is not a linear +6 psi too, its the more reliable map for sure but my OEM boost targets were lower than I had expected.

for most I do... I need to get the bluetooth adapter, logging with the USB cord coming through the window can be a pain.

I'll post them and some updated logs when I get the car back from the dealer.

Agreed! Donnie is great too. Mine stopped working after a year and he's going to fix/replace it.

One thing I wish you could do was have multiple custom maps and offline editing with ability to save and load at a later date.
