E92 M3 Race Build
In October of 2015 we acquired GSR Autosport and gained an essential partnership with Josh Henley. Since then, we've been considering the idea to build a company race car. We initially wanted to build an E46 M3, but realized that we already had 2 clients with fully race built E46 M3's. So we started considering the F13 M6, but the desired parts were not available to build a proper race car. Therefore, decided to build an E92 M3 and purchased one in the beginning of December.
In the first few hours of purchasing the car, we weighed it in stock form and the car weighed in at 3575 with 1/2 a tank of gas. After weighing it we took out most of the interior, minus the dash. The car weighed 3249 with a little under 1/2 a tank of gas. Currently, the car weighs 2967 with 1/2 tank of gas with gutted oem doors and oem trunk. We have fiber glass doors and a CF gutted trunk. We are hoping to get it down to 2850lbs. We will continue to update the thread with more pictures Specs: 2008 E92 M3 with Sunroof - OEM CF Roof - JRZ Motorsport 1133 Double Adjustable w/ SWIFT - Stoptech Trophy ST60/ST40 - Custom 18x10 +25 White/Mercury Silver Volk T37 - 275/35/18 BFGoodrich R1s - Custom Full Roll Cage - Sparco Seat - OMP Steering Wheel - Rothsport Quick Release - Macht Schnell Intake - Macht Schnell Solid Subframe/Diff Bushings - Macht Schnell Test Pipes - AKG Engine/Trans Solid Mounts - CAE Shifter - Fall Line Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft - AJ Hartmann Canards - RDSport Front/Rear Sway Bars - Aero Performance Front Lip - Aero Performance Rear Diffuser - Custom 2 into 1 Exhaust with Rear Muffler - Custom Splitter - Bimmerworld Carbon Fiber Headlight Delete - CoolShirt System - Lifeline Fire Suppression - Clutch Master's FX400 Clutch Package w/ Aluminum Flywheel - Wavetrac Diff w/ 4.10 Motorsport gears - Custom CF Trunk - Fiberglass Doors - Brooks Motorsport Wing - Antigravity Battery |

Cool and interesting build. I see the weight loss benefit of going with a single outlet exhaust but any reason not to go to the passenger side and offset driver weight?

Every gram counts in racing
No insulation, cats, nor mufflers and still can't hear? Time for a hearing aid

Hey Guys - Subscribed! Your battery choice caught my attention. Uber lightweight but I've seen some really mixed reviews. Can you comment on the options you considered and why this one? Thanks

He mentions "Aero Performance Rear Diffuser" in his post. I'm under the impression that the aftermarket diffusers are "show only" and don't offer anything in regards to downforce. So I'd be interested to see if the one they are using actually does what it's supposed to do. I'd rather add a diffuser and a spoiler than a big wing.

yea, i know the little stick-on things that go around the exhaust tips don't do shit. i'm talking about something that extends under the car to the rear diff/suspension. looks like a very nice build and i'm sure they did something nice.

I purchased my 2008 M3 with 84,500 miles and turned it into a full race car. Ever since then I've put 5,000 hard track miles on it.
I was at Laguna Seca 6/23 with Speed Ventures and during the 3rd session coming out of the last corner I went to third gear and BOOOOOOM! I surely thought it was my engine, but it was my carbon driveshaft that literally blew up. Since the car was down and I didn't have another track event lined up until 8/3 I decided to pull the bearings and replace it with WPC bearings and ARP rod bolts. I'm glad I did! Number 6/7 are the worst of the eight. I'm sure if I went to another event the engine would of blown up. I never did any oil analysis before this. Here are some pictures: |

Legit and one of the best shop who actually test the track parts before selling unlike many other shops in socal.
Are annoyingly perfectionist And their car is FAST!
