Stilo ST5 helmet sizing

This is a PSA for anybody looking to upgrade from the Stilo ST4 GT W to the SA2015 ST5 GT like I did. My ST4 was a 59 - L size and was a perfect fit. So, I decided to order the exact same size for the ST5. When I received the new helmet, I couldn't believe how tight it was. Could barely fit inside the shell, and it was impossible to put on with a balaclava (that's how tight it was). I contacted Wine Country Motorsports (top notch customer service BTW) and they confirmed that it was a recurring complain with the new ST5 series. I sent the helmet back and I am now waiting to receive a size 60 which supposedly uses a larger shell. I'll keep you guys updated, but I wanted to give a heads-up to the people that might be interested to make the same kind of upgrade.

Everything in America is bigger...I thought they'd have known that.

Wouldn't a new helmet fit a bit tighter because the padding hasn't been smashed down? It's kinda like how new shoes feel a bit snug until you've worn them outside a few times.

I agree that the padding tends to wear down and make the fit of any helmet a lot more comfortable with time. But this is not just the padding being stiffer. It's the actual shell of the helmet that's smaller. I really couldn't get the helmet on and my head was actually hitting the impact liners directly.

Yeah understood. There's a difference between snug and too small.

Received the size 60 and it fits a lot better. The switch in shell size is now made at the 60 instead of the 59 on the ST4. Just something to keep in mind.
