Road Atlanta Just Track It: What to know?
Long story short, I'm ready to get my M3 on a proper track.
I have zero track experience and I'm not even sure I will like it but I'm hopeful. I've seen that Just Track It seems to be one of the cheaper ways onto a track. Peachtree BMWCCA doesn't have a lot of events going on. Has anyone done any of these and can tell me if its worth it? Also, where can I find an inexpensive helmet? Any other options to look into for cheap track days just to see how I like it? |

Track Night in America for $125. You don't get an instructor though, so driving experience won't be as good/meaningful if you can't figure out the right lines, braking points, etc.

Look at discovery part for helmets they are located at Atlanta Motorsports Park and you can try on a bunch of different ones. Trust me don't be cheap on the helmet it protects your head.
Be careful with price point track days. Yes they are cheaper but you are not getting great instruction or that much track time. For example Chin Motorsports, who I prefer to run with, at Road Atlanta 4 hr of track time per day. They typically run 2 day events and cost $600 so comes out to $75 per hr of track time. Run groups are smaller as well which means more clean laps. Just track it you get 2.5 hr per day so that come out to $90 per hr of track time. Just food for thought. I will be at Road Atlanta with Chin this weekend if you want to meet up and see what it is all about. Adam

There are many reputable organizations that run HPDE events at Road Atlanta (as well as Barber, VIR, AMP). Of all the ones i've instructed with, Chin Motorsports is the most prolific and is a quality outfit. Peachtree BMWCCA runs a March and Sept school. Check PCA, they sometimes have a cheap intro to track program for $75-100, a classroom and one on-track session with instruction. MVP Tracktime and Rezoom are 2 others. None are very cheap. Definitely attend one that has (quality) instructors for your first time. As for helmets, if your in Atlanta go by Harrison Motorsports in Alpharetta. they have some entry level helmets that you can try on (Bell, G-Force). Yes. it's worth it. Welcome to the addiction.

I haven't driven Road Atlanta, but I have spectated there and walked most of the grounds. The elevation changes will sneak up on you at speed, I'm sure.

They allow BMWs to run with them? It looks like a ton of fun and I really do want to learn how to lap the car properly, but also how to have balls to the wall fun throwing it around a track too. |

They don't discriminate against any make or model. There are always a bunch of Corvettes/Z06s, M3s, WRX/STis, Evos, etc. I highly recommend them.

Another vote for PCA even though I don't own a Porsche. They, over time, have become a bit easier to run, less picky and have a good group of drivers (as does BMWCCA). I have found them to be less hassle as it relates to Schroth belts as well as driving friend's cars in your own run group.
BMWCCA is fine, particularly at the beginner and intermediate run groups, I've just found PCA to be easier and a bit more fun in the advanced to solo groups. |

I have run with Just Track It at Roebling road, I was put in the intermediate group due to my experience but the track time was great. Drivers received (6) 25 minute sessions, for two days, and it was 275 for both days. Excellent value.
After my first couple of sessions of figuring out the line and braking points I snagged an instructor for some coaching as it was my first time at that particular track. He was great, taught me some tricks around the challenging parts of the track. I highly recommend JTI. The community is great, and Nabil and Brian are really cool guys as well.

They do. From what it seems they really aren't in this to make money, both Nabil and Brian have full time jobs and this is just their side gig. Like i said the instructor was great too. No complaints here, I'm planning to run Barber in September and Roebling in November with them.
