M4 ZCP or something else?
Sold my leased M4 vert after spending 8 months with it, I now know I want to own one or dramatically upgrade.
If you were me what would you do? My only dilemma is I have too many cars. I3 (wife's), BMW x5 (family), BMW E92 M3 (garaged-wife won't let it go) 1. Order 2017 M4 Coupe with Competition Package now - 90K 2. Used Porsche 991 Turbo S (Sorry can't afford the GT3) Weekend - 140K will have to wait atleast 6 months due to finances. 3. Ferrari F430 Weekend - 110K 4. Anything else that's comparable to the 2017 M4 - maybe the Mustang GT350? I miss the M4 already. Thanks all. |

2017 M4 Comp Pack or GT 350 or even Corvette Grand Sport..
Why buy an expensive used exotic to only drive on the weekends... Not saying I wouldn't be down with either.. but those three offer duality at lower costs an a new car smell |

You know... I swore to myself that if the Competition Package comes with more hp and alot of upgrades, I'd get it... just will have to switch out the 666 rims and i'll be happy

I just hate Mustangs (and most American "muscle" cars) from an aesthetic perspective, so feel free to ignore me

Why did you sell the F83 so quick if you loved it that much?

Of those choices, I think 991 TTS is the way to go. It would have a better badge and be meaningfully faster I think the latest Viper and Z07 should be considered, as well as GT4 |

The front end of an f8x best front end body style of all time on any vehicle. Anything Dodge, the worse.

GT350(r) or SS(1LE) I probably wouldn't buy one.. but its tons of performance for the dollar along with the Camaro and Vette... Again I still drive a BMW lol... Plus one on the Viper ACR... Tons of kit for the money.. Last edited by DocWeatherington; 03-07-2016 at 02:04 PM.. |

Oh, I'm not arguing with the performance to cost ratio, but they're just so ugly/gaudy to me.

The main reason was because I wanted to personally customize my own order... the F83 was straight out of the dealer. Even though everything about it is "almost" perfect, I want something to call my own. A few things I want is a coupe. The Vert's performance I have no complaints... I don't feel it heavy, no lag, cornering is confident because of the stiffer standard springs. But if I was very happy with the vert...just imagine how'd I feel of the Coupe's performance with the Competition Package, carbon fiber roof and I can mod it how I like which'll just be replacing the 666 rims and a rear spacers!

sorry to side track you, o/p, and the rest of this board, but can you educate me on how you "sold a leased car?" i thought when you lease a car, you are locked into using it for the duration of the lease term. when you sold it, did you have to pay bmwfs all the remaining lease payments? if yes, sounds expensive. eek. then how did you buy the car to then sell it? sorry. i dont understand this bit about getting out of leases early, getting good title that you can then turn around and sell it yourself. can you indulge me?

i see. thank you. so you didn't really "sell" the car in the true sense of the word but rather got out from under your obligation to bmwfs by transferring it to another person via one of those lease swap websites. thank you for the clarification!

991TTs hands down
It'll probably become your daily. I've driven a PDK 991TT and the thing is a freaking rocket, but still very comfy. The induction noise when boost hits is absolutely incredible, ad your toes will curl up 3rd gear and up lol the seat of the pants pull is incredible |

So a 'vert to comp pack fixed roof car is probably ??? 3mph??? on the order of 6MT vs DCT ??? (complete GUESS) but that's not meaningful in my books. You would need to go with a car that traps in the 130mph+ range (or at least, I know that's what I'd need to declare "dramatic upgrade") Whatever people say about Viper or modded C6 or C7 Z06, badge, interior, whatever.. it's tough to overlook them if you have a sub $100k budget and want to play in that 130+mph trap speed range, in my opinion.... |
