What's the widest tire you can mount on stock M wheels?

Call me old school, but I love the look and styling of the stock 19" black M wheels.
What I don't like is the 275 tires on the rear.
What's the widest I can go without issues or looking ridiculous? 285?? I don't want to run "rubber bands".
Your input is appreciated

I initially ran 305/30/19 MPSC2 on rear and moved the Stock 275/35/19 MPSS to front.

No issues at all except the fronts were not upto the grip of the MPSC2.

I would have liked 275/30/19 upfront but they dont make that size.

So I now have 265/35/19 MPSC2 upfront and the 305/30/19 MPSC2 at rear.

Its much better.

That's the widest I would go on stock rims.

I do intend of putting 10's on front and 11's on rear.

Haven't decided if I will ruun 20 in rear and 19 upfront like the M4 GTS.

sub'd. getting some new rears soon, although if i change brand/model I'll need to do fronts too, or course.

275/305 is awesome. not sure if u need to go quite so big for street use.. I have my NT01s for track duty.

what are you leaning towards after some research, OP?

I'll try to get pics. I switched wheels and tires since so I'd actually have to put the stock wheels back on for it. I do run a 10mm spacer up front just to flush the gap.
