Service interval mistake?

Since new, I had an oil change performed at 25XX miles. Another one at 70XX miles. Upon turning 1 year old, the car notified me for its first service at 100XX miles on August 2014. I also used another "value service" coupon (oil change, etc.) done at 15XXX miles.

Car is 2 years 1 month old at 195XX miles. My car apparently says it is to be done in another 3900 miles OR September 2016. The catch is my car is mountain driven EVERY SINGLE DAY and BMW says this CBS computer apparently computes the next service interval depending on the conditions the car is driven!

Does the car honestly expect itself to go on for 25 months or nearly 15k miles without demanding any service? Did someone mess up on the resetting of this? Am I just being paranoid?

Side story time: My ex- 2010 328i's computer followed the 10k/1 year schedule strictly. My brother's 2012 Z4 35i also follows the 10/1 year schedule strictly. Heck, I wouldn't wonder if my brother's E30 notifies him of yearly intervals. All other cars I've personally driven/owned/borrowed seem to follow a 1 year interval.

Oil changes/"value service" does not involve any resetting of service indicator.
