2016 M4 SSii/SO w/ aftermarket parts

The wait is finally over. I put down a 10% deposit with Euler BMW in March 2015 to secure one of their first batch of allocations. I found out in June that I would be taking delivery on 29 July at 4:10pm. I got to the factory at about 10:30am to check-in and make sure I didn't miss the English speaking factory tour at 11:45am. I spent the rest of the day walking around the museum, taking pictures and eating way too many brats in the Premium Lounge.

Almost time for delivery.

Delivery gifts include the h/k speaker, USB drive with Welt monogram, personalized keychain, 10 euros to spend in the gift shop and certificate for a free stopwatch.

Delivery complete. My Delivery Specialist was Wolfgang Voss and you couldn't get a better delivery experience. He ensured that the front license plate was taped versus bolted on and took his time explaining the car in detail. It never felt rushed. He went through the changes to the 2016 model. One such change is a throatier exhaust note starting with cars that had a July production date. Also, European spec F8x's will now get Continental tires versus the Michelins. I haven't seen the Continentals, but it would be hard to beat the Pilot Super Sports. All-in-all, the delivery process took a little over an hour.

I drove it 4 1/2 hours home and had an appointment at the dealer first thing in the morning the next day to install some aftermarket parts. On a side note, a 4:10pm delivery time will put you right smack dab in the middle of Munich rush hour traffic.

Re-delivery at the dealer. It was tough taking a car you haven't even had for a day and drop it off for a day and a half.

As I said earlier, I was told the exhaust note was changed for 2016. Most everyone at the dealer said it was louder at default start-up idle and deeper sounding in Sport+. From the beginning to about 45 second mark is the default start-up with one of the revs to about 5000rpm. From about the 50 second mark to the end I have switched over to Sport+. This was recorded on a Sony digital camera, not the best sound capturing ability and you can hear the damn electric fan turning on right after the switch to Sport+. I like the new sound and have no plans to get a performance exhaust.

Great looking car. I like the rocker panel extensions. Have to love Welt delivery.

One note though. Your post says you put the deposit down March 2016, I assume you mean March 2015.

Yep. Thanks. Correction made. I've got 2016 on the brain I guess.

Any interior pictures? Curious if the 2016 M4 ended up getting any of the interior updates the 2016 M3 did.

Congrats. Can't tell much on that exhaust note as far as difference from 2015 goes. You mentioned your delivery specialist ensured the front bumper was not drilled. I was under the impression they never drilled it anyways of is that only for the U.S. deliveries?

Thanks.

Congrats! Also, you mentioned that at 4:10pm rush hour is crazy in Munich! IMO with a car like this who wouldn't want to sit in traffic!!

Thank you! Please if possible post a video of the Navigation booting up and if you believe it is faster than previous versions in a 2015? We want to know if the M4 got the same internal upgrades as M3 in this department! Thank you and enjoy!

Thanks.
I had to take my permanent German plates with me to delivery, so I was afraid they would treat it like a German car and permanently affix the front plate. Of all the deliveries I saw, mine was the only one without the front plate on it. When I leave Germany in about a year and a half, the car will be registered in Florida where it doesn't have to have a front plate. So, I want to keep the front as clean as possible.
