"The most beautiful sound I'd ever heard"

Still panting and sweating after my crossfit workout, I get in my M3. It feels so good after an exhausting workout! So comforting.

But one of the highlights of my entire day has to be this ... I hit the M1 button (Sport/Sport/Sport+), blip the throttle to open those valves and hear the exhaust rumble.

Ok, here comes the good part ... I put it in 1st gear and crawl out of the gym parking lot, hearing the exhaust sounds bounce off all the other parked cars. And the exhaust still being slightly cold from sitting for an hour outside the gym, I start pushing the revs and BOOM!!! I get that raspy note around 4,000 RPM and IT KILLS ME! EVERYTIME! I LOVE IT! The most beautiful sound I ever heard!!!That's how I know it will be a good day!

To make things even better, I ask Siri to play some music, and she puts on this song by U2. "The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)"

"Everything I ever lost
Now has been returned
In the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard"

Aaaaaaaah! My day is made before it even started! Sometimes you know the world just agrees with you .. if only for a moment!

Lol hey nothing wrong with that! Bodybuilding can co-exist with CF.

The only thing one can do with bodybuilding is go back to the gym.

I might not be as functional as a cross-fitter, but I'm more aesthetic brahhh

This thread SHOULD be about Falafel Combo 's beautiful AY M3 (sorry for the thread derailment!) But I don't hate Cross-fit; I have a good friend who's team won some comp and is going to the Cross-fit games? I dunno the big event for CF. But I bodybuild competitively for NPC, as does my girlfriend (she does Bikini, though). It's a lifestyle choice and just like car colors it's all subjective

I love doing that pull from 2k-5k RPM and closing the throttle right next to people walking on the street. It terrifies small women and children and brings joy to my life lol.

Now imagine all that noise and backfires amplified times 10... You should invest in an M Performance Exhaust... It kills me every time, as well.

Nice pics. Definitely can attest to the incredible sound of the M Performance Exhaust. It's really incredible!

I actually hated it when I first heard the M3/M4 almost a year ago..after owning the car I've grown to appreciate it and love it more and more. I've only got about 500 miles on my F80 and it seems to be getting louder and louder already. As long as it's in sport mode it's a pleasing noise. In efficient it still sounds like a high powered lawn mower.

My wife used the exact same term "lawn mower". The day we received ours, we were both so pumped with the aesthetics(the f8xs look way meaner in person), we sit down and let it rip and...your right though...sport plus is a must for me...

After hearing the AFE non-resonated exhaust this past weekend, every other F8x exhaust I've heard sounds like a manic sewing machine.
